Peach's Castle is located on top of a castle and can be one of the most annoying levels to play on.
At the bottom, there's a moving platform which you cannot grab onto if you fly off the edge. There's a bumper
at the top that doesn't move, but it can be pretty annoying if you hit it. There are also two triangular blocks on each
side of the course which will stop most attacks that would normally end with a victory. On this course, there are no places for you
to grab on to if you fly off the edge, so you've to land on the platform. Playing tip: Throw the opponent up into the bottom of the triangle sending him straight down!
Congo Jungle is a relatively short playing arena or course. It has 2 standing still platforms at each end
above the main platform and 2 rotating platforms in the middle going in circles. The bottom platform you can grab on to,
but the other platforms you can't. Below the bottom platform is a barrel going from side to side. If you land in this barrel, press
A to launch yourself out. Watch out though, the barrel will occasionally start rotating, and it's no good firing yourself straight down.
I found this out the hard way.
Hyrule Castle is Link's favorite course and is one of, if not, the largest courses. This course has three different sections. The far left section is like a roof, but
it is also slanted. So brick Kirby's should watch out because they will fall right off the edge. The second segment is a nice long walkway and towards the
right but still somewhat in the middle, are three platforms going up. The third segment of this course, is a flat walkway with a walk-through little tower. You can go through
or above the tower. The special thing associated with this course would be tornados to signify high winds. If you get caught in one of these tornados, it will do damage % to you and fling you high into the air.
If you have enough percent, tornados can kill you, although the other player will not get the point if you're doing a versus game.
Planet Zebes is an annoying course to me, but it might not neccessarily be so for other people. There is one hilly bottom platform with three other platforms above it.
The lowest one is at an angle, the middle one is to the left and flat, and the top one is in the middle and flat. There is also one vertical moving platform to the right
of the course that you can go on. The special thing, which I don't like, with this course is that there is some yellow thing at the bottom, which is similar to lava, that rises and falls.
This lava can come up all the way up so the uppermost platform will be the only one not submerged. If you fall into this lava, you bounce back up and it does damage to you. This lava,
like tornados can kill you if you have enough percent.
Mushroom kingdom is the only secret level, and to get it, you must beat the game with the eight original characters under normal with three lives, however, continues can be used.
This course has two pipes or tubes that you can go into and appear out the other by pressing down over them. There is one setback to this though. In the middle of this long course, there is a hole,
which is the only hole, and sometimes the pipes will make you go into the hole. You can still get out no matter what player you have, but sometimes it can catch you off-guard. There are also
POW's that appear as blue boxes that you can hit. Anybody that is currently on the ground or any platform, is sent high into the air. This can end in knockouts for the player that hit the POW.
There are also two platforms above the single hole in the course, tied together through some string and a pulley system. If the weights are uneven, then one platform will rise to the top and the string will break,
therefore causing the platforms to fall down the hole. These platforms are replaced after so many seconds.
This course is an extremely happy course. Literally, if you play it, you'll know what I mean. There is one main platform
on the bottom, and three platforms very similar to Planet Zebes setup. However, the only one not at an angle is the top one. On this course, there are clouds that disappear after a timelimit where there
is at least one player on it. After that, the clouds disappear, so my hint is to keep jumping if you want the cloud to stay there to reset the clock. Sometimes it will catch you off guard and you will fall down
and die. On the left side, there is only one cloud, and on the right side, there are two clouds. Another hint for playing tricks with the clouds. When you send somebody far out of the ring, clouds are their way of getting
back. But if there are no clouds...
Dream Land is Kirby's course and is rather small. There is one main platform and
three small platforms above it. The entire course that you play on, not including scenery to make it look cool, is practically a mirror image or symmetrical. The higher platform
is in the middle and the lower platforms are on each side of it, but all platforms are above the main one. The characteristic for this course is that there is a tree. This tree has a mouth and
likes to blow things away, and will try to blow you off the course. This will cause you to move in the direction he's blowing if you don't move, move slowly in the opposite direction if you're going against the wind, and
practically flying if you're going with the tree's breath.
Sector Z is fox's course and takes place on one of his ships. This is probably the longest course that there is, and is one of the most fun levels. On this course, you fight on the very top
of the ship, and then there's a little wing like thing at the back, like a tail fin, which leads you up to a small cliff-like drop. Then you can fight all the way to where the end of the ship is. On the front of
the ship, or the left side, there are guns or something like the ships guns. If you fall off, you will NOT be able to land on them. The special part of this course is relatively simple. Fox's personal ship
flies in and fires its lasers, and if it hits you, you're hurt and can possibly go flying off the screen. While the hips are there, they can be used as a platform when they're right side up, but if they're upside down, they won't be able to be used.
The ships exit by going upword or to the side, so if you remain on the ship, you will fly off the course and result in a death for you. If you're going up, move the joystick down rather than jumping off. If you jump off, you might jump off the
course, which would not be good.
Saffron City is all of the pokemon's course. This course is also one of the most unique courses. It takes
place on the roof-top of a few buildings in Saffron City. There is one to the far right that is like a small square. The main building has a cube to the right of it next to the building I already mentioned.
In this room is pokemon that will come out a door and do something to the left side of the roof-top of the building or farther. Sometimes it will be good; sometimes it will be bad. Chansey can come out and heal you
if you stand in him, and he also shoots out an egg that can be used for an item. Then there's Charmander who shoots out fire to whoever's in his path. There are others, those were just two of many. On the left side, there is another small
square like building and between that building and the main one, there is a vertical moving platform. To the left of the platform is another, but slanted, vertical moving platform.
If you choose random, it will choose any of the available courses for you at random. You will have no control over what it will choose.
So it will choose either Congo Jungle, Hyrule Castle, Planet Zebes, Yoshi's Island, Dream Land, Sector Z, or Saffron City.
It may also choose Mushroom Kingdom, but that depends whether you've unlocked it yet.
There are two bonus levels for each indvidual player and these are required to be beaten to get some of the players. I'm not going to go into detail on specific
courses, but I'm going to give some pointers. On the break the targets, you have to hit each target in a time limit to win. You can hit them with a projectile or a
punch or anything that would do damage. Sometimes something will look really hard, but in reality, it's relatively simple. Sometimes it will actually be hard, but like on Yoshi's break the targets, the one to the farthest
to the right and near the bottom is really easy. All you have to do is hit it through the wall. Yes, you can hit it from the other side of the wall. I failed to realize this and got rather frusterated. This will be the case for other players break the targets and is most obvious with DK's.
The other one is Board the Platforms and on these, you must go onto each individual platform. They might be moving and you'll think you've got them all, but really they're not visible yet. For Samus' Board the Platforms, the one in the upper right corner is the toughest. My advice is make a big ball and
see what happens when you fire it in the air. I will say no more. Happy Boarding!
